Mamachickpea's Journal, 12 February 2013

So .... Today I addressed yesterday's problem calories but tomorrow I need to be plain sensible with vegetables and nutritious food. Maybe even some gentle exercise and a good nights sleep too.

We all have off days Mamachickpea but what's important is to get back on track.

I've really grown fond of vegetables (while not always attainable, my goal each day is 3 cups of greens, 2-3 cups bright colors, 1 cup sulfer-rich veggies). I make veggies at nearly every meal---in an omelet, sauteed, steamed, roasted. I make a yogurt smoothie that has beets, kale, avacado, berries. I also make all my own salad dressings so my salads are very yummy. Just experiement. I'm with you on the good nights sleep. I focused on good foods and sleep, then slowly worked in some form of exercise.

I love vegetables and seem to have been eating less of them on my diet than I would previously have done. I think I have been trying to cut out so much that I have accidentally cut out some of the good stuff too, not helped by the fact that I have been trying to eat extra protein so I keep muscle mass. Today is the first day in ages that I have eaten my kind of food . I have realised that my battle is not eating stuff just because my husband or the kids are having it or because I think that I should have it rather than actually wanting it. Feeling very positive about food today in a way that I haven't for about 15 years. However, tomorrow I may feel differently, lol. Thank you both for your support. I really do appreciate it.
