ctlss's Journal, 05 February 2013

and another nice day. Sun shining and 55 degrees. I had some home repairs to do today. The storm door's automatic door closer broke, and when it did, the wood on the door jamb splintered. I went to town and bought a heavy duty door closer and installed it. It works great! The door closes slowly and automatically. Now I just have to fix the wood on the jamb and repaint and it will be just like new. The only other alternative was to cut out a part of the jamb and replace it, which would be a BIG job. Anyway it is done, and the door once again closes when you come in without having to stop and pull it to. :)

While I was in town I stopped and got my hair trimmed. Unfortunately, one side is longer than the other, so I have to go back tomorrow and have it fixed. Got my eyebrows and upper lip waxed as well. So much easier than doing it at home. Then ran to Aldi's and picked up a small container of heavy cream to tide us over until I can get to Costco. I also bought some cheeses, including a white cheddar with dark chocolate in it. Interesting, and not too bad on carbs either...2 grams per ounce.

I did well with the food today. Exercise...walking around town. Have about 6,000 steps for the day. Not much, but better than nothing! Tomorrow we go to mom's for the evening, but first I need to go to Costco, so I will get more steps in for sure. We are almost out of paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, heavy cream, and a few other things. I think I am going to try to do a kettle bell workout tomorrow.

Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in yours!!

What a nuisance, that you have to get your hair re-trimmed - especially when you go to the professionals! 6,000 steps - sounds pretty good to me :-)

You impress me that you do these home repairs yourself! But then you go to someone else to have your eyebrows done - LOL! Just joking because after all you do you deserves some pampering. As for hair, it is funny because I have to go back and get mine re-cut! But these things happen.

Oh - I wish I could be good with tools. But I guess my interest is not big enough - if it was, I'd probably have tried harder. Sometimes, though, I wish I could be more handy in the home, would be nice :) Must feel good!

Pam, you would think it would be pretty easy. It is almost to my rear end and just straight across...she trimmed off 4 inches. Guess it will be a bit more now! lol The 6,000 steps is better than I have been doing, for sure. Have a great day!

Buffy, that's funny. I have a unibrow that is evil, and it would take me longer to do them than to fix the dad gummed door! lol My hair shouldn't be that hard to do...it is all one length and was almost to my rear. She took off 4 inches, but after we are done today, who knows? Have a great day!

Makitsi, that's what happens when you are a tomboy and follow your dad around all the time, "helping"! lol Hope you have a great day!
