Good day all! Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable holiday (from Halloween to New Years, right), and are back to undo any little bits of mayhem done by those said feasts. As much as I enjoy the season, I must admit I am glad to move on to a new year and get back to familiar routines.
I am happy to say I finally saw a loss on that darned scale today. I had actually resigned myself to the idea that it might never move again. My clothes have gotten looser and I have lots more energy and less headaches and know that I eat better than I used to, so that was going to be enough for me (not to mention my medical numbers are normal, very important). But there is something about the reward of the pounds (or kgs) going down that is just so much more gratifying. It feels like success. So I am feeling extra happy today! :D
Thursday is my indulgence day (I decided I needed one), so I am looking forward to having some of the foods that I can only watch other people eat the rest of the week. Even though I know I won't feel as good tomorrow morning as I do all the other mornings of the week I am still going to have some treats. I have been thinking about this quite a bit this holiday season, the allure of indulgence foods vs the feeling of health and well being that comes from eating healthy foods and exercise. Will it ever be that I stop wanting sugary, fatty and salty foods? Now that would be real progress!

You know, you're right. It does seem like one long Holiday with Halloween starting Mid Sept these days. You're also right - why do we continue to crave things we know our body won't like. I'd tease you about taking a vow but won't as I'm about to embark on my own little test of tasting. Congrats to you on moving that scale ~ enjoy your happy indulgence day!

I'm with Sazy, you are doing just fine. :) Enjoy the Indulgence Day, but make sure you make room for it, and that it doesn't go nuts on you. When controlled, they can be a lifesaver and help us stay sane, when uncontrolled, they can totally undo all we do the other days. :)
