I had a two week bike trip in the French Alps in the mid-august. Then in early september i was managing a very heavy volume of workouts in preparation for a half marathon on Sept23rd. I did not restrict calories for these weeks in order to sustain a high level of exercise.

I am resuming calorie counting now for the rest of 2012. I am making an attempt to lose another 10 lbs in order to attain my racing weight at 14% body fat. I will exercise at lower intensities for the next three so that i can deal better with the lower energy levels associated with chronic calorie deficit.

After 7 months of calorie deficit (Jan thru July 2012), my body had stopped responding and weightloss was bottoming out at 174-175 lbs. Now, after 2 months at a stable weigh, i am hoping that my body is ready for another round. Losing weight sucks, but i am making a final push for the next 3 months. Hopefully i'll be at race weight by the time 2013 comes.

In early 2013, i'll begin the 30 week IronFit competitive training program in preparation for Ironman Mont-Tremblant. Once the program begins i cant expect to lose weight because i will need to fuel the workouts appropriately. Therefore, those last 10 lbs need to come off before the program starts. I have three months.
