Well, this is what happens when I fail to plan my day in advance!

I had a half serving of Ghirardelli "Midnight Reverie 86% Cacao" ... after midnight, of course, and then had quite a few calories for lunch. My husband and I went to Chop't for dinner. I didn't realize the relatively high carb count of the romaine lettuce, and ate the "free" slice of "Artisan bread," but didn't have croutons on my Caesar salad.

We always have dessert and coffee after coming home from an early Saturday evening dinner. I couldn't let my raspberries go to waste, but they were a much better choice than my husband's "mini" apple pie!

So, yes, I exceeded my carb and protein macro "budgets" and went over my calorie allotment for the day, but my weekend "treat" was a far cry from the single-serving pint of Baskin-Robbins and dozen peanut butter cookies, each, that we used to "enjoy" in the not-too-distant past.
213.0 lb Lost so far: 9.5 lb.    Still to go: 41.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I just looked up romaine lettuce 2 grams net carbs in 6 leaves. Is that a lot? I'm thinking of trying to lower my carb count to no more than 50 (or so) a day so have been looking up lots of veggies to figure out how to do it. Love raspberries! Lots of fiber, so the net carbs might be okay - gotta look that up too.

You're right, Fritzy! Why does the FS Food list give such high numbers for "Chop't romaine"? I didn't question it. I'm going to change my listing to plain romaine!

Ah! I've figured it out! One "serving" of Chop't romaine lettuce is listed as "1 cup -- 255g." I had one serving of Chop't romaine, not two. Chop't online nutrition info: ROMAINE SERVING SIZE (G) 255, CALORIES 45, CALORIES (FROM FAT??) 5, TOTAL FAT?? (G) 1, SODIUM (MG) 20, TOTAL CARB (G) 8, DIETARY FIBER (G) 5, SUGARS (G) 3, PROTEIN (G) 3. Plain old "romaine lettuce" from Dole measures "2 cups" at 85g! But why does Chop't include a gram of fat? In lettuce?!

From what I've read, opinions vary on whether to count 20g (*total or net*) carbs on a *ketogenic* diet. [I count all the carbs for purposes of planning my dose of Humalog (short-acting insulin).] I'm still at 63g carbohydrate for the day, well over the 20g threshold, however they're counted. But I'm not going to be deterred. ONWARD!

We are all human. You are doing great. Stay with your plan :) - - As far as late night eating, when I gained 8 pounds (water weight) on my vacation, I realized I ate 1/2 my calories after 9:00pm. When not on vacation I go to bed at 9:00pm.
