Maintaining under goal - 4 weeks

Still losing - waiting to see where I will "land", weight-wise. Food choices and amounts have become habits. I am lucky that my co-workers are all working on being healthy too, so it is nice to have a supportive environment. We bring in a fruit tray or a veggie tray instead of donuts and bagels.

The best thing I have explored is Yoga. I always thought I could not do Yoga because I was not flexible, but I realized that's how you increase flexibility! It is a wonderful resistance workout and much more soothing than using free weights or Nautilus. I have seen improvement in my flexibility, balance, core strength, and muscle tone very quickly! I attend a Foundations class once a week and practice some at home. I like going to a class because the instructors are so helpful in adjusting you if there are corrections needed.

I've also been going to a local state park about once or twice a week to hike a 3-mile loop trail along the lake. I love walking/hiking outside versus on a treadmill. It's getting hot in the afternoons now, so the woods are much cooler with the breezes coming off the water.

I did have to make some changes in what I choose to do with my free time in order to fit this in. I love to make quilts and could sit at my sewing machine for hours on end. I love to read and work puzzles. But I decided I would rather work on being healthy and active instead, and these activities do not help me reach my goals. I do still sew and read some, just not all the time.

What choices have you made that have made the biggest difference?

I have to get back to doing yoga. I have a bad h up and it bothers me to walk a long distance. I also like to wuilt, do puzzles and read.
