Are you using My Cookbook? There is a spot that you put in Servings, it is defaulted to 1 (i use my laptop) you need to change to number of bars you get out of recipe. And when you add it to your journal it should be correct.

Awesome new info! I've been using Food Diary. Record ingredients, date it with description. Add to 'My Favorite Meals'. For individual servings. Send it Food Diary and divide each into the portions created. Resave in 'My Favorite Meals' as portions and dated. Had no idea how the My Cookbook worked! Learn something new every day! Take care and thanks 😂

When I first chose to use this site, March 2022, the food diary was the main reason. Nowhere EVER have I been able to find any instructions on what's here and details how to use it. Just saying. Thankfully, over the years, I've found the people here have been helpful in sharing any knowledge they've/you've acquired 🤗

I get a little more anal than redrose54 and weigh the final product, minus the pan. I like this approach particularly for soups and casseroles so I can weigh by ounces and can flex when I want more or less.

Cookbook option is great. I’ve always used it. I’m happy to help anyone I can as I’ve been helped. Pass it on. Forward kindness. 💜💜💜🩷🩷🩷

Livin-agreed there are so many wonderful caring people on FS. We are all in the same boat i think. Just different areas of the boat at any given time.

I normally do the full calories for the complete recipe and then divide by the number of servings. Example if it’s 1200 calories for total for 12 bars, I just use one serving size of .0833. 1 divided by 12 =.0833 which is 100 calories. It’s a pain in the ass but it works. The nutritional value would be the same thing. FatSecret should automatically calculate it.

Sometimes I'll do the servings, sometimes I'll actually weigh the entire thing and set the servings according to grams, or 100 gram increments so I can weigh and record that way. So a 1400 gram loaf of my husband's bread would be 14 servings, and when I get a 40 gram serving, I record it as .4. Or a recipe that results in 835 grams of food, I'd set at 835 servings, so I can weigh by grams. I usually put serving size in the description so I remember. Also, a word to the wise: if you submit a recipe to FS for their cookbook, you won't be able to edit or delete it

I am glad you got some tips! I love the cookbook option and have used it from the beginning. I put most of my favorite meals there modified and with instructions so when I want to make it I pull up the recipe. The first couple of times I would mess with servings to get my macros and then going forward I always have it for my diary. I have even taken pictures to do to my cookbook. Love that feature!
