_bec_ca's Journal, 19 April 2022

I am posting this with embarrassment. Once again I am having to get back on track. I am going to work out a plan for daily activity and meals with alternatives for days that I'm hurting and/or have a flare up with the fibromyalgia. Sleep has been my main concern and I was doing really well until this last week. I do so much better when I'm alone, but that isn't my life and I thank God for that. My strategy must be something that I can practice daily with people being in my life. If I trip up, it's on me. I want to be strong enough and solid in my self-care so that even when there are changes going on around me, I stay steady. I have done this before. I know how to do it, but honestly, I dropped the ball when my mother passed away and that was 2 years ago. It's time to get strong, physically, spiritually and emotionally . ❤

Dear sweet Becky! Hugs to you from me. I don't have your same troubles, but my troubles help me understand how hard this is, for we are both having to start again. It is so easy to shift focus to everything that must be done or absorbs my focus and "conveniently" push away the good habits so hard won. It is so discouraging to "fail," but we have no choice but to fight onward. You are such a beautiful, wonderful woman I'm so privileged to know! Today can be a good one... at least as far as it depends upon us eating with restraint. That is something we can control! ❤️ One day at a time!

We want you to succeed, Becky! If your weakness is going with the flow and pleasing others in your daily life by cooking and eating unhealthy food with them, then why not change the tide? Ask everyone in your circle to help you with food choices. Devise a grocery list together. Pick out recipes together. Involve them!

JB, I just discussed this with Joe, my husband and he is on board. Even though he doesn't have the sensitivities that I do, he is definitely a help mate, all I have to do is ask. Focusing on our health is a wise move for both of us. Thank you for your support and advice. You are such an encouraging role model. ❤

Be kind to yourself. Grief is a disrupter and finding your grove again is possible. Best wishes. We are rooting for you. I'm also just getting back on track. This is hard, no doubt, but doable.

Being capable of admitting embarrassment shows that you are either unconscious or emotionally strong enough. Unconscious? So...You are confident enough that you have both knowledge and experience, you do not fool yourself...all these mean that you have what it takes to succeed. You only have to believe you can. Ok, that's a critical issue for most of us. The mistake we all do. Looking at the end of our journey, making it look like a steep slope mountain climb which in fact is if we keep looking at the end. So...one day at a time! Your last words! You know exactly what to do and what not to do!

Please don't be embarrassed! We all need support and like to provide support if we can. I don't know your specifics - but my sister has fibromyalgia so I understand a little. Living with pain is challenging - I never know if I should be moving or resting. Hope you figure out what is best for you.

Thank you Tasso. Self-care can be tricky for me, but attainable when I stay focused. 👍

Thank you Fritzy. ❤ I have had FM for many years, so I do get frustrated when I drop the ball and my health suffers because of bad decisions I make. I know better and I am the only one that can turn it around and be there for myself. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
