dclaytor's Journal, 18 June 2014

Couldn't sleep again last night. So here was my midnight battle.

Mouth "I want chocolate."
Brain "No"
Mouth "Why?"
Brain "Cause it's full of sugar and calories."
Mouth "But it has good stuff too, like magnesium and makes endorphin that make us feel good."
Brain "Yes, but you eat too much and we gain weight then I feel bad."
Mouth "I'll only eat a little, promise."
Tummy "I want some too."
Brain "OK, but just a little."
Mouth and tummy "YEAH!!"
Half hour latter. Mouth "I want more chocolate."
Brain "NO! You just had some."
Tummy "How about tomorrow?"
Brain "No."
Mouth "What about the day after?"
Brain "If you both shut up and are really good you can have some Friday."
Mouth and Tummy "Yeah"
Half hour latter. Mouth "Is it Friday yet?"
Brain "Shut up or I'll feed you celery all day tomorrow!!!"
Mouth silence.
Tummy grumbles cause it can never completely SHUT UP.

Battle won, kind of.

Omg this cracked me up! I know your pain!! I'm struggling not to eat a super huge, delicious muffin sitting at my house from a leftover in-law visit over the weekend! I actually meal-planned to bring it to work today and then left it....

Chocolate and potatoes especially fries are my downfall. Chocolate is the worst. I actually crave it like an addiction. I'll get where I can't stop thinking about it and get very B****y. So I keep things like chocolate covered almonds, covered fruit and doves and have a couple every couple nights keeping it under 50 cals. Otherwise I'll blow my diet eating a ton of carrots or such trying to avoid it. But seriously this conversation happens every night.

Love your post. Recipe for guilt free chocolate taste: 1/2 cup non fat Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup berries (I use frozen mixed) and l tablespoon chocolate baking powder(12 cals). Stir and enjoy. You get all the good stuff in one cup. Also 5 to 10 almonds a night will help you sleep better.

Also. fatfree greek yogurt with 2 tsp of sugar free, fat free chocolate pudding. I alternate with cheesecake pudding and also do sugar free jello. Then add 1 tbs. of chia.

That was hilarious.

Yep, I am going to try Classic Rocker's recipe tonight. I had read it on one of her posts. Thank you CR! Bought the pudding yesterday! Always like trying new things.

Your Tummy/Mouth must be from the same place as mine... I found awesome chocolate wafer snacks that are only 55 calories if I eat 4..But my mouth/tummy keep eating 6 or 8 every time my brain has been promised that I will only eat the 4.
