I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food. I recall back to when I was around 12, we went to dinner at a restaurant. I ordered quite a big meal and ate until I felt nauseous. On our way home, an hour's drive, I stopped feeling sick but was still really full. I opened my take-away and ate the rest of it. Thinking back - that is what my relationship with food was for a long time, I would eat anything and everything I could lay my hands on, up until the point where I felt sick.
Understanding and being consciously aware of this - has led to many successes. I am now able to start building towards a healthy relationship with food.
My main purpose for undertaking this journey is to one day be able to be a healthy, involved, active mother, sister, wife and woman. To be a great example for my family, my community, and anyone else. My weight should not even be a consideration, I don't want to think about food all the time. I want to spend time thinking about how we can make the best of this life.
