Hi,
I'm 47 years old and just celebrated 25 years of marriage to my husband. We have a 23 year old daughter who lives on her own so we are empty nesters. I have had a life long struggle with weight. I am 5'10" so have always been lucky that my height hides some of my weight. But, being tall makes you feel like an amazon woman and never small or petite, no matter how much I lose. So, while my weight may not have been too bad when I was younger, I felt larger than everyone because of my height. Looking back on those slimmer days I wish I could've appreciated being tall and had a healthier body image of myself.
My cousin showed me this site - we just recently saw each other after several months apart and she looks amazing and is still on a path to becoming a healthier version of herself. She motivated me to get my butt in gear! Thanks, cuz!
I actually like to exercise....that is, once I get started. I love zumba classes at the gym, riding my bike, and kayaking. My husband and I go camping often (we have a small 20' travel trailer and call it our mobile condo) and I would love to start hiking more since the meals while camping are...well...you know about camping food - everything tastes better camping!
Since I'm beginning this right before the holidays, my plan is to monitor my food intake and hopefully not go overboard with all the treats. Of course, I'd love it if I am able to lose as well. I will try to add in the exercise to help with the food intake.
