Need some Atkins buddies
Best of luck with induction. It is hard the first few days, but if you can make it two solid weeks with no cheats I think you'll be set!
I started Atkins 07/10 with my husband and mother. We all lost 50 pounds each in about the first 4 months and have maintained our weight loss ever since. My husband reached his goal weight and is smaller than he has ever been in his adult life and now wears size 29/30 jeans and small shirts. I got really lax about it and was glad to finally be a size 14 after ballooning up to a size 20, but I still have about 40 pounds to lose to reach my desired weight, so I just started to get serious and I'm back on Induction to jump start me. I started two days ago and already dropped 5 pounds, so I'm motivated to keep going and lose the rest of my weight.
Wrap your head around the fact that it is a way of eating for the rest of your life, not just a short-term solution. After paying attention to what I eat, I've realized I just don't digest wheat and rice very well. They now make me ill when I do have them on occasion. Who knew? For years I thought I was lactose intollerant and it turned out to be a wheat and rice allergy instead.
So hang in there and stick it out and above all, write everything down that you eat!!!! It's amazing how fast the carbs add up if you are only mentally keeping a tally. The food log on this site is awesome. Best of luck!
