Your message popped up on my feed, and I can relate to it! Since this is a hormone issue (not just female hormones), you have to address how food affects hormonal responses. Calorie counting alone won't do it. Take a look at
http://www.dietdoctor.com
. I have been doing what he recommends, but I have to combine that with calorie counting. If you eat meat, it's easy to stick to. I feel your pain, it's so much harder to lose weight when you hit menopause age.

Getting Close
wow, isn't it life changing? I have gone from 247 to 195, with about 30 lbs to go for my goal, and the change is amazing. Sometimes I don't recognize myself in the mirror.

HCG
I used to be able to lose weight by restricting calories and exercising, but wow, once I hit 50, I lose so slowly that it just gets too discouraging. I don't think anyone could maintain the 500/cal day for long term, so I've adapted the eating to what works for me. Just to clarify, hcg is not an appetite suppressant in the sense that is affects your brain. And there is NOTHING easy about what I'm doing, this is very hard. I have completely made that change in lifestyle, eating lean protein and veggies and restricting fruit, but having a little each day. Somedays, I add some extra healthy fat. This has been a lifetime change for me, not magic.

HCG
I've been on HCG for 6 months, and I've lost 52 lbs. I don't exactly follow the original protocol, I usually have more like 750 calories a day, and only one fruit a day. I add a protein smoothy each morning. I also don't take breaks every six weeks. And to really make everyone crazy, I order it online from an Indian pharmacy, and it is 100% pure. If you are starving and weak while on it, that's when you need to check the quality, because it is most likely not pure.
I feel better than i have in years, my LDL cholesterol went down 37 points, I'm requiring less and less thyroid meds, and I'm just not hungry unless it's meal time. It's the only way I lose weight without being beside myself with hunger, and I'm so thankful I found it. I normally believe in science, but there is something there that they just aren't finding, because I KNOW it is more than a placebo for me.
