Hello, friends! I’ve finally upgraded my knife game since breaking my old chef knife and I love these! They used to belong to my dad, so they’re the real deal. I can finally chop all that kale with a decent sized knife. Thanks to everyone who made such good suggestions on my knife post. I agree now that quality will cost more, but is worth it.

Those look like quality! I was just watching some videos of all the flooding in NY. I'm guessing you're doing fine living up high?

Thanks, D, they’re so great! My mom is scared to use them because they’re so sharp, big, and heavy, but they’re perfect for me. Yeah, the rain was insane last night! The stuff on my balcony was flying around and everything got soaked. I haven’t been outside yet, but the flooding seems to have gotten a lot better. And yes, being on the 11th floor definitely helps with this type of weather, lol

Henkels are pretty great and should last a lifetime. Enjoy!

The sharper the knife the safer they are...if used properly. I cringe when I see my wife use a paring knife to cut things.

Thanks, Jimmie! 🤗 That’s true, they had these forever and nothing happens to them. And I’m finally able to slice tomatoes skin side up.

And so nice to know that they were in your dad's hands.

Good knives do make a big difference. Glad you were able to get your father's. ❤👍😊

Yes! Good knives! You don't need my approval, but you have it. Huge difference. Now, learn to sharpen them with a whetstone but practice on something else first. You also have access to some awesome knife stores where they will sharpen them for you. It is an art to do it right and it does make a difference.

We got some knives for Christmas and it makes a huge difference. I go after meat, but kale is a tough one too. Just get them nice and sharp!

HK3, yes, that’s true! My mom does the same thing. I don’t know how she manages to shred a whole head of cabbage with one of those tiny knives all the time. She’s pretty accident prone too, so she has cut herself before. My dad tried to teach her knife skills, but she just does her own thing, lol.

Erika, thank you, love. I’m so happy to inherit these from him. He loved food and loved to cook. It brings me joy to use them because it reminds me of his famous spinach pie and roast beef.

Lonnie, thanks, love, I totally agree. I think a set of high quality knives are a good investment for those who prepare their own food.

Kenna, yes, Queens got pretty badly affected. I tried to get on the subway this morning to go into the office, but they're all closed because they're so badly flooded. The streets looked like rivers in this area last night and many of the garages and basements are still totally flooded. It's pretty crazy. Thankfully, no one I know got hurt. Thanks for asking.

Thank you, Bec! They really do! These are even more special since they were my dad's. He only bought the best stuff. :)

Kat, thanks, friend. Coincidentally, the twinkies' dad now does this exact thing for a living. I suppose I can always ask him since he does it on a pro level. But thankfully, these came to me already incredibly sharp. My dad used one of those electric stone thingies that spins and if I remember correctly, he sharpened all of his knives weekly. Not that I need another appliance in my teeny kitchen though.

L2E, that's awesome! You and wifey definitely need a good set since you're both cooking and prepping delicious food. Good kitchen tools are so important. I used the bigger one on my kale last night and it was a breeze.
