Fritzy, I'm not using my faulty bathroom scales again. I’ve seen the error of my weighs!😆
Good luck with the scale, that is irritating when your relying on it. 🙃

Fritzy, that is frustrating! If you're going to go by the doctors scale, please remember that scale can also be off a few pounds for various reasons. Maybe you can use your measurements or the fit of your clothes, to measure weight loss. I didn't know temperature affects the efficiency of a scale. My scale has been going back and forth on only 2 numbers for a week now. It's in the coldest part of the house. It might move it and let it get comfy, then try it again to see if it's me or thr scale that's stuck! Good luck with getting the new scale to work. 💕👍

It's 56 degrees in your house? Girl! Turn on the furnace!

I try to keep my scale in the exact same place every day - I can get it to fluctuate a couple of pounds by stepping on it harder or softer or left foo versus right foot. If I am weighing myself every day, I remind myself "you're looking to fluctuate 20 to 23 pounds less so this range is still too high" - I think the electronic scales bounce and catch at certain weights, so get stuck. Lately I have just been hoping to not go above 162.

If it's that cold in your house, the cold batteries could be affecting the scale. I'd just see what happens the next couple of days and not sweat it. Actually, I'm now wondering if that's what happened to mine this morning. I don't have the heat on and it's a balmy 48 out in my office. I'll just keep moving forward. Suggest you do the same.

Shrewdness - I do like the fact the scale was showing a much lower weight. I finally got it to work - I think. Ccandco - I know most scales can be off a pound or two. But my scale always matched my doctor's exactly. I would weigh myself before I left my house - with my clothes and shows on and the weight matched. Liz-Andra - I can't turn the furnace on until all the most has been taken care of under the house (where the furnace is) and I get the filter replaced. I have a space heater in the bedroom so I'm comfortable enough. Abba - the scale is in the same place all the time. Katsolo - I don't feel so bad about 56 if it is 48 in your office!

Is your scale on a hard floor (no carpet). Hope I’m not stating the obvious. 😊

I wish sometimes that my scale *would* fluctuate* - but no - I have to wonder why you bought a new scale - Was it because you thought that your old scale was inaccurate??? In my mind's (accurate almost none of the time) --- I believe that your new digital scale might be ... correct. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you...let us know what happens. This is exciting.

Oh, I'm not whining about it Fritzy. I'm layered and quite happy. Token winter and all. I can always shut the doors and turn on a heater, I just usually don't bother. Now, if it stays cold and starts raining for days on end, that's different. That's the kind of bone chilling cold that I hate.

Sarah - the scale is on the bathroom floor - vinyl. Jergens - My old scale wasn't working, kept giving me error messages even after I changed the batteries. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The new scale now appears to be working okay. Katsolo - I'm cold at 56 degrees, but used to it. Have blankets and long sleeves and the new space heater has the master bedroom very comfortable.

I'm getting a scale like that

Yeah my bathroom scale is always confused. I like to post the lower weights I get on it because then I feel really good about myself. Then I do my official weigh in and gain 5 mystery pounds. I am ok with it. It’s a guide for me. In the long run, like over months at a time, I am happy if it’s continually being confused but going down. It is frustrating though when you go to find out where I am right now, wanting a snap shot or sone confirmation that I am doing well and it throws out random numbers.

Don’t you have central heating.. At 56 degrees that is a MAJOR winter cold front for us in Southern California. UGG boots, scarf, hat, gloves, base layers, emergency hand warmers. We are wimps when it comes to cold. It is nice not to have it at 80 degrees at Christmas though

old batteries will cause that sometimes

Cstrutz - I knew it was too good to be true! It's not likely I would lose 8 or 9 pounds in a couple days, although it is possible to gain that much! Kenna - I'm in Northern California. It hasn't reached 50 outside today, the gloomiest day so far this season. I have central heating, but the furnace is under the house, where all the mold is. The mold should be taken care of by tomorrow or Wednesday then I need the furnace company to come out and do the annual check and change the filter (also under the house) before I feel safe about using the furnace. I have had different things told to me about mold spores coming in through the vents, so I'm playing it safe. I just got a space heater which keeps the master bedroom comfortable along with heated blankets. Wldwds - it's a new scale so hopefully the batteries are new. It seems to be working now.
