Wisco Soul's Journal, 08 August 2023

After taking a two week break from my WOE, I was fairly confident that I could fall back into routine, and I was right. That is a huge NSV for me! 🎉🙂🎉🙂

My husband and I were talking last night about all the great changes that I've made during the past 15 months, and how those have ultimately become lifestyle changes and a mindset shift. That's to say, I'm not on a diet, but instead I have chosen a WOE for the rest of my life that is crafted just for me and evolves with my life making it sustainable.

It still blows my mind that I am in control, not my addiction. The positive lifestyle changes have become even more important/essential at this stage in my life when I'm dealing with a health-hostage situation that has taken control of my body and limited my physical movement. I can't control what my body can do, BUT I DO have control over what I PUT into my body, though.

AMAZING!! i was an actual heroin addict for 20 years.. i was on methadone for several years as well.. both of which cause hard sugar cravings and do to being totally broke because of my addiction, bad and cheap food choices.. that translated over once i got clean and no longer was taking drugs to keep the weight off.. also my addiction switched over from drugs to food.. i because obsessed with what i was putting in my mouth... 1, for the serotonin and 2, for something to do with my time.. ill always be an addict but ive chosen to switch my addiction to something healthy and positive.. i have a 21month old son and its changed my life completely..

I hope your new migraine medicine is helping! That is ROUGH to deal w those! My oldest daughter suffers from those. She gets a monthly shot in her tummy area for those. It’s something to be very proud of to know you’ve got control over what goes in your body. Did your Dr suggest a temporary elimination diet to see if any food/drink is a trigger?

It's an amazing feeling when healthier habits actually become something you WANT to do. I took a couple of weeks off myself to visit friends and family, and am bringing it back to my WOE pretty naturally. You've crossed a major milestone. Keep going! 👍
