Second day of the fast. I gained a pound, really? Anyway, woke up this morning slight headache. Feeling a bit sleepy. Not feeling hungry thank God. Mentally I feel like I could eat something, but tis happens every time on the second day without food. I just need to get to the third day. That is where the energy returns and the mental calmness begins. For the first time I plan to stay that way for a full week. So it continues...
** 11:42am Update ** I want to eat! I am not hungry. In fact I feel kinda full because I have had two coffees and a Green Tea already. But I want to 'chew' on something. I just want to fill my mouth with food and chew and swallow it. It is now lunch time, so instead I am now going to go for a 2 mile walk while I listen to my audio book on my headphones...
** 1:14pm Update ** I just walked 7K steps. No longer hungry :) I get back to the office and someone has filled the hall with the smell of hot butter popcorn Yum! Good thing I am on a fast because otherwise I would 'just have a little' then continue to eat until I felt 'full'.
** 3:30pm Update ** My energy is through the roof. Hunger completely gone. I think my body finally switched to fat burning mode. This is the reason I fast, to feel like this :) Debating doing a 5 mile run tonight...
** 8:32pm Update ** I live in Los Angeles and we have long drives home. After 1 1/2 hours in the car I was feeling tired and sluggish. I just wanted to go to bed early. I know that on a fast I need to exercise to feel good so I laced up the running shoes and set off. At the first mile I got a burst of energy. I felt so good I could have run 10 miles. It was exhilarating. This is why I do the fast, to feel like this. Anyway I got 5 miles in, now off to bed...
