I'm finally trying to make Nom Nom Paleo's Kalua pork in my pressure cooker tonight. I'm surprised the recipe isn't in here yet. I'm crossing my fingers it comes out good. I usually don't make pork shoulder, and I've never made it in my pressure cooker before but almost everything else has been great in it. How did I live without one for so long? I was scared on using my old fashioned stove top one and hardly used it and this electric one I've been using 3 or 4 times a week. I've made ribs in the middle of the week in about an hour. I found a low carb pressure cooker recipe book so I may make some of those in the future. I am dragging today. I need coffee and soon.

I've thought about getting one but haven't as I wasn't sure how often I'd use it. I do cook every day. So maybe I will. Ty for sharing

Once you own one, you'll think it's essential.

I just looked up the pork and it sounds delicious. If I can get the salt locally I'll try to make it in the slow cooker :-)

The only reason I got one was my friend (runs her own resale business) sold me one for 20 dollars. I thought why not. The first week I only used it one time and then I was hooked. I upgraded to the 10 quart one and sent my 6 quart one to my sister. The day she got it she made a chicken. She said it was one of the best chickens she has ever had. She just crisped the skin in the oven for a few minutes after cooking. If this one broke or anything happened to it I would be at the store the same day to replace it. Homemade bone broth in just a few hours instead of days. :)

It came out okay. I took it light on the salt like the recipe side but I think it needed more. Next time I'll double it. My son has already eaten a pound of meat and a small helping of cabbage (cabbage under protest).

Oh, I so feel your son. I was the same way as a child. If I could have meat I was happy. Did not need anything else. Even nowadays, even though I eat veggies and I like them, I still prefer meat *lol*
