Yes, I have heard of it. In fact, I bought a book about it 15 years ago and started reading it and stopped for whatever reason. What I did read I found interesting and logical. I should get the book out and finish it. Thanks for the reminder.

My mom used it and it really worked well for her. She felt better when sticking to the highly beneficial foods and when she veered off toward the less beneficial noticed a difference in pain levels, inflammation, etc.

I heard about it a few years ago, but kind of passed it by because I don't know what my blood type is. Reading through the profiles on that site, if the're accurate, I'm either AB or O. Both, interestingly, say to avoid grains, especially wheat, and I've noticed a huge improvement in my overall health since I've been grain-free.
Where I disagree with the diets (all of them I saw in a quick overview) is that they're still pushing the old 'avoid fat and cholesterol' paradigm.

You're welcome, Engeland. I will definitely be buying the book! It looks like the closest I will be able to getting to figuring out my DNA anytime soon. @newnormal... for the past few days, I've really been contemplating on going back on an all meat diet (except for a handful of greens now and then), because that's when I felt best. It was upon researching that, that I ran across this link.

Well, yea, msk... that part! ...but everything else makes sense on my overview. I think a diet rich in meat naturally came with fat, as they ate from head to tail.

Don't get me wrong. When I say all meat diet, I mean high fat meat.

I am O+ and do remember it saying something about avoiding grains and dairy and increasing the protein for my blood type. I do ok with some grains though.

Yeah I checked it out years ago. I'm type O and many of the foods that I should have been avoiding were things that I had in the past tried to live on alone while trying to diet and failing miserably. So much of what I was supposed to be doing made sense. Not sure why I stopped following it. I just may dust off the old books and tweak my current food list a little better. I can't remember all the good and bad foods. Thanks for sharing this.

Interesting to know, Christine! Thanks a bunch for sharing! You're welcome! ☺

What would be super interesting to know is if the Type A's here are the ones who thrive on a high carb diet as the overview suggests.

My mom did well following the diet while doing it and she's an A. Too many of her no no foods were calling her away though so she didn't stick with it very long. Lol

@Engeland... quite interesting. I don't do well with grains at all, not even my beloved rice. I do even better when my meat hasn't even been fed grains.

LOL @Christine. I know the feeling. Thanks again for sharing. I'm really intrigued with the whole genetic diet thing. I think soon that everyone's perfect diet will be based on DNA.

@msk... the only way that I know my blood type is that I give blood every 6 months. Saves a life or two & clears out some of the extra iron that I have floating around.

LOL. Giving blood does not "clear out the extra iron" you have "floating around". Clearly you haven't done enough research. As far as a "blood type diet"... look, stop looking for fads and just eat less! That's the only "diet" that works. How about instead of diets, you change your lifestyle if you're trying to lose weight.

@C2B........I do ok with spelt and rye in small amounts. 100% wheat, nope. I eat rice every 7-10 days; a small portion though.

I've used the Blood Type diet for type O when I learned that I had gluten sensitivity. It worked very well for me.

@DJ... FIRST, maybe you should tell my Dr. that.

Second, I've lost 93 lbs and kept it off for 2 years. So I think lifestyle is what I'm shooting for. Just tweaking to try to make it perfect for feeling my best, not losing more weight.
Third, I detect a snotty attitude. If that's the case, your comments aren't welcome on my post. Have an awesome day! ☺
