Bingo! Hallelujah!! I hit my weight goal today for the first time!!!
The funny thing is that I can't get this old statement that my father used to say at mealtime every single night out of my head. He would remind me of how blessed we were to have plenty of food to eat and how as a child growing up during the "Great Depression" he could not always eat a balanced diet. When ever I went for seconds he would say, "Take all you want but eat all you take." That has stuck with me all my life. I still clean my plate but now I try not to put so much on it. Some restaurants serve such large portions my wife and I don't have any embarrassment sharing a meal. We just ask for an extra plate and maybe an extra vegetable. That way, I can still clean my plate...

If you eat out & the serving is too much to begin with, ask right away for a 2go box and put half in it before you ever start to eat. You have a meal for the next meal. That way you aren't tempted. When you are home, use a bread plate instead of a dinner plate & DON'T go back for seconds.

By the way, congratulations and don't do it to yourself again. You can do it.
