Totally random here, but I adopted an older declawed rescue kitty and made the mistake of letting his bell collar on him at night. OMG. The laid back couch cat became a berzerker at night running all over the apt. At one point he cried beside the bed, I shushed him reached over and took off the collar. Not another peep or sound out of him the rest of the night. 2 days already who has whom trained:) I was so exausted from lack of sleep, I didn't get up to work out. The moral of this story is debell the new cat before bed, or close the blasted bedroom door so he can't walk on you and keep you awake purring and head butting you to pet him all night. Lesson learned. >>> I went out at lunch and walked for 30 minutes instead of sitting at the desk. It cooled down some. Th weather has been rotten hot.

LOL. I'm sorry to laugh at your lesson learned, but that is just funny! I found myself EXHAUSTED this weekend from hiking in the NC mts. My husband and I did about 3.5 hours Friday and about 2 hrs Saturday, and really none yesterday. My husband has been working on cardio training for over a month and I've been working on strenth. Girl, my butt was wore slap out Friday night. I cooked supper for us, and went to bed. Slept 13 hours!!! We had not gotten much rest Thursday night - bed at 1am, and back up at 5:30am to get ready to go on weekend vacation. So add that plus all the hiking and I was just pooped!!! So will be switching up and adding cardio into my weekly workouts! :)

My pets wake me up at 6 am, even on the weekends but I have trained them to sleep in the bed when I am sleeping or else they are back into their cages! (I have parrots)

Our cats have us trained for 8am and 4pm feedings. If we deviate, they let us know is no uncertain terms. For example, paws in the mouth, paws on the face, purring next to your ear, and meowing at all decibal levels... lol

DG, To funny. I didn't realize a purr could rumble through the bed or across the bed for that matter. This cat has a motor like lear jet. He is about 16 lbs too from being in a kennel for so many months and no activity. Big boy is a lap full. I have to teach him how to play and lose some weight. Definately keeps me company.

Kudos to you for adopting and adopting an older animal at that! He's just so happy to have a home he wants to tell you about it, over and over again, all night long!
