Thoroughly logging everything I eat and accounting for all my physical activity makes me much more mindful of what I eat, calories, amt. of protein/fat/carbs etc. And it keeps me honest with myself. I find it's making all the difference in the world, I'm finally losing weight and this is something I can stick with, even enjoy doing at this point. 8 lbs lost is great, just be diligent and keep at it, you'll keep losing more.
