Day 3 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting Blood sugar 110 mg/dL
For the last three weeks, even though I have been ‘no solid food fasting’ every week, I always gain a pound on Tuesday or Wednesday. This week is the same. The rest of the week I usually lose weight.
I have averaged 1500 calories a day for 4 days, yet I gained 4 pounds. Yes it is ‘water weight’, but I believe the ‘water’ is related to the level of glycogen in my skeletal muscles (∼500 g) and liver (∼100 g). The answer for me is to keep my carbs and protein low to minimize replenishing the supply.
