Another year starts and another set of promises to make it different....but, this year is different. Finally have health insurance and it will help cover some of my assistance I need. Especially getting medical help with the high blood sugar levels.

So this is not a New Year Resolution as much as a required lifestyle change.

Some keys I'm sharing (mostly to keep me in on track as I look back.)

1) No eating out (except for planned "splurges" at places that have some healthy options.

2) Only buy what is on the shopping list and only put ingredients need for the meal plan on that list. (Shopping at Sprouts and Whole Foods will help with not buying so much crap. Sorry, Safeway.)

3) Exercise. Damn. The real hurdle. I HATE exercise for the sake of exercise. HATE IT. So I must get past that mental hurdle. (It always feels like a waste of time that I could be more productive doing something else.) - This is something I have to work on.

As for all of us on this journey....I wish us luck, strength, and motivation.
