The scale doesn't seem to be tipping one way or another, and for me that's even more frustrating than watching the scale go opposite of my desired direction, which is down. While I don't have a whole lot of money to purchase another scale, I would like to invest in a scale like one from Withings so I can get the whole picture like if I'm losing fat or but gaining muscle kind of thing...like if I'm gaining water weight and losing both muscle and fat. Pounds can only say much!
Meanwhile, I upped my water intake to 10 glasses a day, mostly because of the fact I'm intermittent fasting 20/4 and drink water as a way to keep from eating. (Yes, I'll admit the hunger and cravings are a big problem for me as I'm trying to develop the discipline for this all over again.) I still get some hot green tea in (as in boiling hot water and a single-serve tea bag in a cup), trying to make that a once-a-day thing. I do take a multivitamin daily. I'm also still trying to follow Atkins as much as possible, but I'm now considering modifying it a little to fit the fasting.
Finally, I'm going through something I'm not sure if I should take this as a good sign that everything I'm doing is going okay or if this is a sign of a problem. I'm starting to have muscle cramps and spasms on the regular. When I was on Atkins last year, this was normal for me. But then they were really mild cramps and spasms; now I'm having like charley-horses and whatnot. It can get debilitating at times like this morning while shopping in Walmart I had to stop and lean on a pole to get my calves to stop cramping or else an employee would have been calling a Code White (a person that fell). So I'd like to think the cramping and spasms are back because of Atkins and the fasting is what's making them so intense.
I digress... at least I'm not feeling the lethargy, bloating, and moodiness I had before this.

So I found what will work for me: intermittent fasting alongside Atkins. I unintentionally dropped two pounds in a day in the process trying to figure this out. What made me think to consider IF? I remembered from last year that I went through a period of IF that was unintentional.
Long story made short: had a really bad ice storm that left me without electricity for three days and I never knew when my next meal was coming. I'd might luck up on a neighbor or friend cooking on a grill to get a rib or porkchop sandwich and then it may not be until the day next when I ate again. And that was also during my first time on Atkins. I ended up dropping almost six pounds from that ordeal.
So thinking back on that got me thinking "so what if I went through IF again but this time in a planned, structured manner?" I've been doing 20/4 (20hrs fasting and 4 feeding), and needless to say it's working for me without any adverse effects so far. So I'll stick to IF with Atkins for a while. :)

So over the last couple of days I got really frustrated over my weight not really going anywhere. I'm now experimenting around to get past this plateau from playing around with the amounts of fat and protein I consume to find what would optimal for me to simply a day of nothing but fluids. Crazy, I know, but frustration and determination makes me want to do something about this.
(And for background, this is my third time on Atkins. First time I successfully lost 34lbs in six months before falling off during a trip, and the second time I got so frustrated with only losing one pound during what would have been the first three weeks that I quit...and I followed Atkins down to the letter. Of the 34lbs I lost, to this day I had a net gain of 16lbs.)
