snakeyjane's Journal, 27 October 2017

I've been doing a lot better with my diet. I'm still grain-free, and I'm better about avoiding added sugars. There's no chocolate in the house (gasp!), and I finally realized the anxiety and insomnia I get three days later aren't worth the pizza treats. [When I kill off bacterial/fungal overgrowth, acetylaldehyde is released into my blood stream, which is a neurotoxin. Every time I eat sugar or starch, I start the overgrowth/die off cycle over again.] I have really been craving some chocolate ice cream, so I upped my carbs. I'm eating a lot of beans and squash lately -- yummy, healthy carbs that won't bog my intestines down!

I'm no longer trying to lose weight, and if I get down to 120 lbs, I'll be actively trying to gain weight. I don't want to fall below 120, because I've not weighed less than that since puberty. I really don't feel like a pre-pubescent body would suit my lifestyle. Plus, I'd like to swing a kettle bell around this winter and try to put on a little muscle. I'll need those few pounds to burn while strength training or I'll have to up my calories. Mo' calories cost mo' money at the grocery store. Heh, what weird motivation I have lately. I guess that's what happens when you're more concerned with health and lifestyle than with physical appearance.

I hope everyone is well and succeeding in their goals. I'm sorry I haven't been more supportive lately. I've been writing again, and so I've cut down screen time in other areas of my life. That means I'm not on FatSecret much, but I am keeping a blog if you'd like to keep up with me outside of the diet world. My WordPress and Instagram handles are HoosierMystic. I post food pics in my IG story, if you miss seeing my strange protein/carb combos. Be well, friends.
