LadyinDenim's Journal, 18 July 2016

I wasn't expecting a 2 lb fluctuation today. Last night, two hours after supper, I was in the bathroom for half an hour with diarrhea.

Fasting isn't a magic pill, that's for sure. I'll keep going with it, though. It's weird to think that I actually netted a gain this past week, despite looking and feeling smaller.

237.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 102.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Little flux. Wouldn't worry. Especially if you aren't 100 percent and are fighting something. Your body could be desperate to hold onto some water for infection fighting.

Happens all the time. Easy to fluctuate 3-5 lbs in a day for no real reason. Go with the clothes test ;-)

You're doing great. It's the overall trend that counts. Nice new pic!

Who knows? I tell everyone else not to worry about fluctuations, so I won't. It's just puzzling to me. Maybe our weight is really a 4-5 lb range and not really a static number. If that's the case, the fact I saw 235 on the scale is still pretty good. I don't view water weight as a bad thing. It's hydration. It's good for my skin, it's healthy to have some fluid on board, especially in the heat.

Yes, I believe that as soon as you see a new low number on the scale, you know you can weigh that. So even if it's just dehydration or something the first time, you're already on the cusp of that number and can stick with the weight loss until you are maintaining or dropping below that number. It counts! I'm also finding the weight moving average app I found for my iPad gives an interesting perspective on the vagaries of weight fluctuations over time. It's called Happy Scale.

I'm an Android girl. Looks nice, though.

When I got my new digital scale, I played with it for a few days, and weighed several times a day. It's amazing how my weight fluctuated up and down throughout just a single day! And there was no apparent rhyme or reason to it: higher after 16 hour fast, lower after a meal, higher after using the toilet. I'm back to weighing once a day, trying to do it at the same time every day. I believer you're right about weight being a range.

And sometimes the scale is just messing with you!!! (LOL) (That's why it's sometimes called the Idiot Box!)

You're doing great. As long as the clothes feel good and are getting smaller there's no downside.

Sometimes up before down. I see it often.
