No weight loss per the scale, but my legs are so swollen from my whirl-wind weekend, I know I am just retaining fluid.

My wife has a cousin, who has two small kids & was about to be homeless. So, Friday after work, we took off to help her. Drove 400 miles; got there at midnight; got up Saturday; rented a UHaul & car dolly; packed her up; drove the 400 miles back; got up Sunday; unpacked her stuff; which wrecked our house; & left me worn out, swollen, & sweaty by the end of the ordeal at 8:00 pm Sunday night.

Nothing left to do but take a shower & call it a day right? WRONG!!! My damn well lost power & we had no water. So, I had to take a vacation day yesterday & get all the contacts replaced to get the electricity to work.

Long story short. With all the travel, I didn't take my fluid pill, because I didn't want to have to stop every 30 minutes for the bathroom. So, that resulted in my legs swelling up. Which negated any weight loss I may have had. So I will have to wait till next week to see where I'm at.

It is what it is. You never know what life is going to throw at you. We are blessed. Our house has 7 bedrooms so when people come visit; we have room for everybody. We don't live near any of our family. Her cousin needed a change. Her kids needed a roof, food, & stability; one is 3 years old & the other is only 9 months. So, that was my life since Friday.

I was able to eat pretty good. Stayed on plan at least 95% of time; but every thing was fast food. So there comes the salt as well. Still avoided soda. I desperately need to get back into my routine. that is my goal this week. Get back on my daily schedule. If I stick to my daily, the plan is simple.

So a little hiccup in the climb, but the climb continues none the less. Let's have a good one today gang on this day that is to be un-named!!!

I may be crazy for doing this, but I couldn't live with myself knowing we had resources & the room available & left hem to live in a car. Keep me in your prayers.

Bless you Jon for the kindness and love you're extending to your cousin and family. And congrats on passing the 100 lbs mark - I know I'm a bit late with it but I missed it. Way to go!

How wonderful that you have opened your home to these folks in need of your help. Perhaps it threw you off your routine, but life happens when we are busy making other plans, they say. Living life is the reason we are all working so hard, right?

I am a strong believer in KARMA and I know good things will come your way. But you have lost 100 pounds so far and I know it is such a big change and it only gets better with time.

You all are too kind. There was no other option. I can't preach to my kids how to be a decent person & be willing to help your fellow man all their lives & not do this. They are cousins, but were both raised by their grandmother, so their relationship is more like sisters; even though there was a falling out a few years ago when my wife's grandmother passed. Any way, no regrets on my end. The kids definitely seem to be better off. The 3 year old is ecstatic. He's running around playing with the dogs & seems to be very happy. Found out last night he has never lived in one place longer than 6 months. Personally, I doubled up on my fluid pills yesterday & nearly earned a doctorate in bodily fluid evacuation. However, my kankles have now subsided & began to at least resemble actual ankles this morning. All that's left is to get the house in order & get back in the gym in the evenings. And I'm working on it.

When we do good things and make the right choices for the right reasons not just good intentions, we uplift ourselves with those we are helping to gain a better footing in whatever their struggle is. Be it a kind word, and generous outpouring of support, moving them into a better... safer situation. In the end you always gain more than you might feel you might lose. It may not always be easy but if everything were easy there would be no joy in climbing those mountains and succeeding. Jonathan, you have done and I imagine will continue to succeed in not only your impressive personal goal but surrounding yourself with a feeling of happiness and satisfaction in helping your family during their hardest times. Watching these little ones grow up will only add to that. Generous, kind and a heart that has more room than your house. *hugs* Have a great day!
