Been super buys lately so my posting hasn't been there. Even forgot to weigh in yesterday! Will do that shortly.
I read in another entry that diets are like religion. I think that is a spot on statement. People pick what they think is the best diet and, generally speaking, nothing will dissuade them from believing it is the right one. But if you want to really know what is best for you then you have to experiment. You have to try different approaches to find what works for you. I know people who do well on a low fat diet. Not sure why, but they do. I do not, and would venture to say that most do not. But that doesn't mean you have to be strict in following this type of diet. You may need to adjust things to get to the optimal fat burning point with your own body and metabolism.
When you decide to try something new you have to give it time. I generally stick to a two week trial period. It's enough time to see any noticeable changes, good or bad. I make note of the results and move on. If science cannot figure this out then it is up to us to figure it out for ourselves. There is a lot a play when it comes to diets. genetics plays a big role, lifestyles, food preferences and even income levels all contribute to how we eat. It's no wonder we have a weight and disease issue in this country. No one has really taken the time to do the proper studies to account for all of the factors that contribute to obesity. Until we do that there will be no definitive answers.
