What is wrong with me today? I cannot seem to get unhungry. Maybe it's time to get myself a giant burger. Sometimes that solves the problem.

Good grief no, HCB. Burger with lovely trimmings but no bun, no fries, nothing but green salad on the side. There's a great place up near where I have to go to try on my ice skates that has wonderful burgers and an excellent salad bar. I don't get into any trouble at salad bars anymore because I can't eat beans or pasta or corn, so my salad bar outings are always low cal.

I've had that peculiar experience a few times in the last few weeks on my 5:2 plan. Food, even on an "eating day" brings no pleasure like it did before. I want something but have no idea what it is. I eat something I like but in moderation, but it just makes me plan something else in an hour. I've given up a couple times and gone upstairs to bed early, just to get away from it.

Do you drink water 1/2 an hour before eating.

Hm FiveTwoCowboy -- I get what you're saying. I think one off the problems I'm having is that since the advent of IBS, I can no longer enjoy my weekly splurge meal, which was part and parcel of my successful diet plan. The things I would likely splurge on -- like lasagna or mac and cheese -- all make me really sick now, so it's much more difficult to satisfy cravings. The reason i'm going for a burger is that I've also learned that sometimes eating beef helps. My diet is almost exclusively turkey in various forms, followed by fish, chicken and egg whites, and I think every so often I need some REAL MEAT. I keep hoping eventually I'll be able to eat yummy foods that have wheat in them again, but the doctor doesn't really hold out much hope.

I feel for you HM with the additional struggle of IBS. Thinking maybe my experience is between my ears and part of my adjustment, as opposed to a physical thing. Makes for a weird day every now and then. Enjoy that burger because only you know what works for you and good luck tomorrow moving forward!
