Feel better soon I hope. Maybe an electric blanket would help. If you were closer I would give you my extra one. You could also try a heating pad for some relief.

You have so so much on your plate! I don't know if you have heard of Salonpas, but it is a sticky patch you can put on achy, sore, hurt places or stiff muscles and it delivers pain relief to the area. These are not those heat-type patches, and I believe the medication is aspirin. Walmart carries it. I've found it quite effective.

Sorry that you are hurting. I can't take being cold so sympathize. It makes all my muscles tighten up and hurt like crazy. There are lots of room electric baseboard heaters you could install that are safe. Would something like that be an option for your bedrooms? Your body may be needing the extra calories to help you stay warm.

I have no heat upstairs, so I use an electric blanket. It isn't heavy and I can set the heat as high as I need it. King sz cost me $50. That is cheaper than a pellet heater.

Those are some great suggestions, Kelly. Have you thought about a hot soak in the tub, with espson salt and peppermint oil? Also a hot beverage to warm your insides? Socks and wearing a kerchief on your head?

Take care, Kelly, making yourself ill won't help. Keep warm and take something for the pain at night. You need to be warm and you need to sleep. Electric blankets are great, very cheap to run, or get an electric heater to use in your bedroom. It will always be useful as a backup.

@Pterath You have popped into my mind several times over the last several days. Thank you for letting us know how you are feeling. Pain can be so very debilitating. Everyone, has given you great suggestions. My question is do you have a rheumatologist? I know that sounds weird coming from the gal who avoids doctors, but you might get lucky with a Rx for Voltaren.

Jay, Kelly lives in the mountains in Maine. I have been camping at the coast of Maine in September and woke up with my sleeping bag covered in snow.

@Pterath Thought about you again last night and added you to my prayer list. I feel for you concerning the cold, the wet and the aches. My parents are both from West Virginia,... coal mining...I've got a lot of family there and I have been in more blizzards than I want to remember. Maine is a place I've always thought I would like to see in the Fall. My dad, however, wants to take a train trip to Canada to see the leaves change. I want to make that happen next year. Congrats, on your 56 lbs! I'm very impressed with your determination.
