Happy Sunday everyone!

Well the families have all gone home and I sit here and survey the damages... ;o} Not too bad, really. All in all, everything went pretty well.
Oh, there were the usual relationship glitches here and there, but I think everyone had a good time. My 9-year-old grandson (#7) shot his first buck on our property Saturday morning. He got a 5-point and his parents (and Papa and I) were very proud. They took it to be processed and are having the antlers mounted for him.

The "Ladies of the Lodge" have made plans for an Ikea trip in two weeks. The guys will hunt and my 18-year-old granddaughter (#2) will earn $50 per family for all day babysitting at DS#2's house ($150 for babysitting 12 kids ages 2-12 all day and into the evening!) We did this last year and the DIL's must have really enjoyed it because they want to make it an annual tradition. We also firmed up plans for the upcoming holiday season and a fall trip to the zoo. I am so blessed that most of my boys and their families are geographically close now, and really want to get together!

Now, I need to head into the kitchen and wash up a counter and sink full of dishes and then GoodMan wants to ride in to Reed City to check on the house there.

All things food...I think I did really well. No straying from my lifestyle plan. I don't know if it will show up on the scale tomorrow, but I'm feeling good about my choices. I haven't gotten in as much exercise as I would have liked, but I learned some new moves with my xbox Kinect and I'm looking forward to using those in the days to come.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Oh yes, the excitement was high! He was one of the birthday kids, so he had just opened his gifts the night before hunting. He came right in and told me he thought the Mossy Oak hunting hat and gloves we gave him brought him good luck! They saw other bucks and does on the property, but never got an good opportunity to shoot them. This was junior hunter's weekend. The big guys were really wishing they could hunt too, so I'll bet we'll see those guys up here to hunt more this fall. :o]

How fun, hate to see those beautiful creatures killed. That noted:: Personally, miss having a supply of venison, pheasant, and quail in my freezer and I'm well aware that the deer population in many areas is more then the terrain can handle. DH never got one nor have my girls, 2 granddaughter's getting their hunting licenses this year. Would love to have a jacket made from the pelts. I'm weird, do not like cold weather but love, love jackets, I have 2 closets full. Will have to beg for one. LOL

Sounds like a great time with the family. The grandson does know that he can't shoot the animals in the zoo, right? Haha, bet his hat didn't fit after getting that buck!

to me--being happy with family and friends lend to better health.....smiling is a great medicine----good health leads to better metabolism-----all in all i think good times are a variable that one has to give as much credence to as calories and exercise!
