I am doing pretty well for a holiday weekend and going out a lot. I was proactive today: I was invited to a family bbq, and I was pretty certain there was a chance there would be nothing I could eat -- either because it was likely to upset my delicate digestion or because it would use up all my calories and carbs for the next 2 weeks. So I stopped at Whole Foods on the way there, and I got Terra chips, guacamole, bell pepper strips, and sugar snap peas. So while everyone else was eating cream cheesy dips and potato chips and lots of other stuff I can't or shouldn't eat, I was busy with my 1 oz of Terra chips, 2 TBSPs of guac and veggies. For dinner, I had plain grilled chicken breast (I was thrilled they made this along with burgers) and grilled peppers and onions. So I did ok, and I went home feeling pretty good about things. Tomorrow, I have a bunch of people coming for a bbq here, and I have planned some dishes I can eat, and made homemade low-fat, lactose free maple walnut frozen yogurt for dessert. Hope I do as well tomorrow as I did today.
