Has anyone else seen the inappropriate advertisements on the side and at the top of the page? I can't believe I'm seeing ice cream sandwiches at FatSecret!

I have adds for education continuation. How do you get an add blocker for your android phone, is it possible?

I see ads for the ice cream and pizza ads. I am just glad I don't have to pay membership fees.

Yes, so happy that FatSecret is a free site! I just thought it peculiar that there were food advertisements. Especially since probably 99% of the people here want to lose weight. :)

I am not seeing that. However, all web sites sell 'crawlers' and at that time or later, sell the traffic and that is how it magically appears later. In addition to unwanted spam, which a computer person would get better than me. I have to moderate comments on my blog, or they do not post. The reason is, in the 4 months (actually one week less then that) I hav e had 900 attempts to post 'ads' and links to exterior web sites to buy things, mostly seems to be from Asia, but I really do not check them, I am NOT interested. I have a mac and I do not have this, I would suggest you enable your pop up blocker, which is in your browser- that is free. You can disable it if you are notified for a specific web site you need to. Also the suggestion for purchasing an ad blocker is good as well. I only leave the pop up blocks on my browsers and it works great. I would definitely get rid of that on my food tracking site- it is insulting in its inappropriateness. I doubt Fat Secret is permitting this, this is crawlers knowing you go onto food sites and such. Jerks. Best Wishes- Amelia

Install add blocker and you won't see any commercials, it's great.

I thought that I may have clicked on a food in someone else's food log. I do that if I don't know what the food is. I just clicked on a tea in my own food log and the ad on the side changed to a tea ad! Now the ad at the top is a cereal that one of my buddies started eating to lower her cholesterol. This is crazy. haha

When you go to another page, the ads change. I got the car and travel ad now that Jon299 mentioned earlier. Thanks for replying to my message, everyone. It's late here so I have to sleep a little. :) Everyone have a great day or great evening, wherever you are. Good luck in your healthy journey. Take care.

I get all sorts of goofy things. I hate those weight loss ads with the gross looking blobs, though they definitely make it so you don't want to eat anything. Just looking at them turns my stomach......

Hi Deb - I use AdBlock. It's free and it eliminates all adverts. Great :)

Hm, that's weird. I don't see any ads on fatsecret.

I totally agree with wholefoodnut. Those ads with the strange looking blobs make me queezy! I think the ads have a lot to do with something you may have typed or searched recently. Mine seem to echo the last searches I've done. For a while I was seeing clothing and handbags. A few days ago I was seeing the Misfit Shine fitness tracker. roseomg, sometimes I'm in Firefox and there's an ad blocker there. Other times I'm in Safari and see the ads.

I don't get ads on my phone when I use the FS app but I do get them at the top of the page on the laptop webpage. They aren't pop ups. Just part of the page. I usually just laugh at the ads that show Hardees, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, etc. Ha! You don't tempt me any more!!

see it as a test of your resolve!! lol

Use google chrome to block ads. It brings up whatever is in your search history. So if you haven't looked at ice cream... someone has on your computer. Some of it's random but I get your frustration.

At least it's not Tequila or Vodka.
