Good morning buddies,

Happy Friday to me! :)

I got up really early and did a cardio video with hand weights, plié squats, and jumping jacks.

Hubby will be at camp this weekend, so it should be very easy for me to stick to my WOE. Of course, apples will be a given, but I plan to make some soups and maybe a veggie lasagna to freeze for next week.

It's really warmed up here..ugh...so that means I'll be able to work in the veggie garden a little. The lettuce, kale, spinach, and chard are doing great, but the beets, carrots, and broccoli have yet to sprout. I think I'll replant those. The rest of the weekend will be spent exercising, painting, and nursing Sarge back to health!

Have a great day!

That veggie lasagna sounds great! I will be doing some charity fundraising Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Your weekend will be busy as well. How is Sarge?

Haha, sorry for the confusion :) I do LOVE a long weekend!

@Arabella66 - wow, you have a busy weekend planned! It's wonderful of you to do charity fundraising :) Sarge is doing as well as expected. He is improving and I am not giving him nearly as many pain pills as recommended. I will say that when I got home yesterday, Hubby was letting him run in the back yard. He will never be rid of the inflammation if he runs. I'll leave it at that for now, but don't see surprised if you see me on an episode of 'Snapped' in the near future, LOL Thanks for asking about him!

My friend who was a veterinarian did a study on pain meds given to animals and found that pain pills given early in a recovery time will reduce stress in the animal and reduce inflammation indirectly by reducing the stress hormones. More pain pills lead to a quicker recovery. But the running, that is not good!

Thanks abbadabba! Currently, I'm giving him 2 Tramadol per day, rather than 9. This morning we were talking about giving him 2 at night rather than just 1 just because he is still pretty stiff in the morning. We also don't want him to wake up during the night and try to jump off the bed. We are both glad he feels like running, but definitely don't want him to do that. He will be going out on-leash starting tonight :)

LOL! Hehehe! Girl I love me some 'Snapped'. :)))) I like the narrating.....intense with a hint of black humor. We watch it on Fridays or Saturdays.....can't remember the exact day.

LOL, I like it too!

9 per day was prescribed? That seems like a lot and I am sure they are going by his weight, but sometimes an animal's system, dog or human, may take longer to metabolize these types of meds. I say just increase it as you see fit and based on his behavior.

Yes, his prescription reads '3 pills, 3 times per day'. I called them to verify that wasn't a typo, and they said it should be a total of 9. We feel that's just too much, and he seems to be doing very well with just 2.

'Deadly Women' was another show I used to watch. I am not a macabre person...honest! I love crime and detective shows.

3 tabs of Tramadol for me=ambulance. A physician prescribed that once for me in regards to my migraines. I took one and was out for say 14-16 hours. Best to work it up slow as needed. That's what I do for my patients within the guidelines of the physician's order of course.

I can't even imagine taking 3 Tramadol, and I'm roughly twice the weight of Sarge. I agree with you...this morning I noticed he's pretty sore when he wakes, so only then did I consider adding one at night. Hubby has 3 herniated disks, so guess who is lifting 67 lb Sarge..on and off the bed? It's a good thing I've been working my arms lately :)

Oh no....LOL! I am just imagining you picking him up while hubby is sleeping. It's not funny, but....LOL! I did notice your forearms look very strong and firm though.

Thanks! I've always tried to avoid bye-bye arms. They are getting thin and defined, thank goodness!
