Yesterday was my sort-of-throw-caution-to-the-wind (but watch the fat intake, because of my gallbladder!) day. I was right about 2000 calories...and while I did eat vegetables and decent proteins and all that, I also ate candy and had a Big Gulp and really, a lot of sugar. That was not really my intention for the day starting out, but it was the outcome. My RDI is 1600, but I'm under that nearly every day, with some days significantly under, and somehow, the (very) occasional 2000-ish day helps my body re-set a few things.

I am down half a pound today (yay!), two pounds from this first mini-goal, and if you look at today's food plan, it's better balanced than the past few days, with plenty of fiber and vegetables/fruits. I honestly think a part of it is that the high-calorie day leaves me feeling a bit blah, and motivates me to make better choices and spend the time on planning and preparation.

So, my planned off-plan day has its role in my process, and I'm feeling really good about today! It helps that it's Friday, that I have enough off-desk time at work to tackle a couple of big tasks, and I'm looking forward to a weekend of framing soffits in the basement!
