I know people think they are being nice giving you a box of gourmet cookies for a present but they are actually making your life harder. Junk food should not be a gift, it's like saying here you go, hope you never lose your weight. You don't give an alcoholic liqueur as a gift. But hey give the overweight chocoholic - chocolate gourmet cookies. Sorry for my rant, I need to build my willpower up. Any ideas for this? First thought is to just throw them out, get ride of the temptation but the cookies were given to my family, my dad and my daughter like them too.

I have the same issues, unfortunately I ate a lot more than I should have. I ended up giving a lot of it to my parents and my brothers who I no longer live with. I would never just throw it away, but re-gifting it works best for me.

Give a few to your daughter and your dad. Give the rest to the neighbor. Tell her you got these, and don't want to sabotage your diet with them. Or, just bring them somewhere (hairdressers, daycare, friends, family ) but don't keep them. They'll just give you more work trying to lose the calories you've gained because of them. Like, how many more hours on the treadmill will you need to do just to spend the extra calories. Happy New Year by the way! You've got a good loss ! Keep it up!

We take our extra "goodies" to work . There is always someone young and skinny enough to eat them up.

Should of re-gifted them. My daughter and my dad wanted to open them. I shouldn't of had one, then that turned into one more & one more.....

Knowing yourself and accepting the way things are make up the strategy for weight loss. In your initial post you did compare your overeating to a drink for the alcoholic. Now you know that keeping junk in the house is a recipe for sabotaging your weight loss. You can say that you've started 2015 wiser than in 2014! :)
