Ingria's Journal, 05 March 2017

I am in a lot of pain again, but trying to ignore it and move on with my life, diet and exercise program. Still had to skip exercise a couple of days last week. The weight gradually and slowly goes down, so I plan to ride the wave for as long as I can. The weather is bad, and my only hope is that I will start feeling better when the storm passes.

Is it arthritic pain?

Who knows. My doctor now thinks its fibromyalgia. I was feeling better for a few months, but alas It did not last long.

I think fibromyalgia is a catch all diagnosis for all chronic pain. If it is joint pain try MSM. It did wonders for my lower back pain.

Thank you for the idea, I need to give it a try. Even if it does not help much with pain, it is good stuff overall. My joints are not getting any younger, and it is even good for wrinkles :) The diagnosis is new, questionable and does not come with a lot of options for cure, but the pain and fatigue are unfortunately not. It just got much worse for the last three years and will power is no longer enough. Painkillers are totally useless. So I will try anything with even slightest chance for relief.

Maybe try a naturopath. It seems like your doctor is out of ideas and things aren't getting any better.

There is actually a test now for fibro. It's pretty expensive, but the diagnoses is pretty specific if it's done by a goid rheumatologist who knows their stuff. Their are many palliative treatments people use to try and help with it and other pain disorders, but this isn't really the board for that. 😉 We'd bore everyone else silly with our aches and pains talk. But their is a good community on the "CatchMyPain" app board, and also their is the US Pain Foundation, The Spoon Theory website (they are on facebook too) and if I remember right a fibromyalgia org website and the youdontlooksick dot com all are good places for support! Good luck Hon!

Thank you all. I am a great believer in healing powers of human body. So I will check the boards and look into alternative treatments as well. My chiropractor was a great help for years, but unlike wine pain does not get better with age. I have great hopes for my new rheumatologist, so I will give her a chance. She is also pushing me to lose weight, which I am trying to do with renewed vigor. I am also going into physical therapy starting next week. I feel much better this week now that the weather improved.
