I'm not really sure how fat secret is calculating my RDI. It says that even though my goal is losing a moderate amount of weight (>1 lb per week), I weigh 272 lbs, and I am pretty much sedentary (boo me) I should still be eating 2100 calories per day! Doesn't that number seem a bit high? I assumed I should be aiming for somewhere around 1500-1800...

Diet Calendar Entry for 14 June 2016:
1140 kcal Fat: 56.00g | Prot: 39.00g | Carb: 122.00g.   Breakfast: Great Value Peanut Butter Bars. Lunch: Wendy's Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Wendy's Jr. Cheeseburger, Wendy's French Fries (Small). more...

I found my RDI to be ridiculously high too. There are so many factors that impact metabolism that I can't imagine it's even remotely accurate.

Some people elect to look up (elsewhere) the RDI for the weight they want to be and use that for their RDI. You can adjust your target RDI at FS accordingly.

Others may disagree bit the RDI's seems high. Mine was 2500 (male) and I went with 2400 just to make the math easier for the 5:2 Diet. I don't feel the RDI is meant as a target. I've heard some use the RDI for their goal weight. Good luck!

I KNOW it is from the USDA. But I Actually TRUST this calculator. Just copy paste it into your browser. https://www.supertracker.usda.gov/bwp/

for instance, this is what it told me to do to reach 250 pounds in 180 days. To reach your goal of 250 lbs in 180 days, you should eat: 1,065 Calories/day. To maintain your goal of 250 lbs, you should eat:2,924 Calories/day. Just make sure not to keep forgetting to change your TARGET weight like I did the first time. So, to reach 250 pounds FROM 333 pounds by December 11 2016 I should consume 165 calories a day. I like the new calculator. They finally pulled head from ass and admitted eating Low calorie wont harm you.

This is the one I used, http://www.calculator.net/weight-loss-calculator.html. It finally seems to acknowledge that I am less than five feet tall and that height is a contributing factor far calories in/ calories out. For every step Knuckles walks, I have to run 3 steps to keep up. I'm always curious how our Asian population, in America, buys a bike or tennis racket. I can feel a rant about to come over me, so signing off for now...
