Been using Carbquik and bought low carb company bread and am pretty happy with the products. Definitely not cheap but I actually had grilled cheese (with the low carb bread) last night and I was like...WOW! Forgot how much I miss stuff like that : ) Scale still stuck but jeans baggier and baggier!

I actually looked at your food journal because I wondered what a vegan on LCHF could possibly be eating! I saw the Low Carb Company Bread, and found a store in my area that sells it. Amazing that it has such a low carb count.

I actually eat seafood and dairy. I bought from Netrition online since I couldn't find it in my area. I love the Carquik biscuits but can't wait to make the cinnamon buns!

Is the bread tasty or dry? Some low carb breads are bitter!

It is dry, the slices are small, not very flavorful at all and expensive but I put butter on both sides and am happy to have my grilled cheese again. (I don't even remember "real bread" anymore).

I tried the carb quick not a fan for breading burns too quick, and make sure you store in the refrigerator or you will have bugs.....The biscuits were Good, small but good...

My store FINALLY got in the low carb bread co products so I can save on the shipping and I had hot dog buns the last couple of nights. I am wanting to try to make stuffing with the bread. I really miss stuffing....

FloridaAngel: Congratulations, keep ignoring the scale and eventually it'll move again. EDC1972: Avocado tofu scrambles! Tofu, avocados, and oils all have <5% calories from carbohydrates (~20g/day at 1500kcal), as do many nuts and seeds. Unfortunately that's about as much as I can tell you from looking at my own (vegan) diet. You can search for "Eco-Atkins" and I'm sure there is information out there if you're interested.

I think bread-like products just become gateway "drugs" for my carb-craving (and overdoing) tendencies. However, I saw a "bread" recipe from formed cauliflower that was used to make toasted cheese sandwiches. I may try it if I get desperate.

If you are looking for recipes like the above mentioned grilled cheese check out some Paleo cookbooks and Against all grain. Most recipes in these books are low carb. Some are high fat so I just try to avoid those ones.

You can buy Dixie LC White Bread mix from netrition and it's not as dry and has a nice taste. I make the loaf and cut it in fourths put in separate bags and freeze them so when I really want something different it's there. Dixie makes several mixes and I haven't been dissaplained with any. I do also buy low carb bread company mixes. I have the carbquick but haven't tried it yet.
