SO ground breaking news.. For those following , Mike got a scholarship which totally changes his Navy plans bc we dont want him to loose the money. We are off Wednesday and are gonna discuss reserves instead so he can use his scholarship then he can enlist after 2 years.. which is still OK in my book. I know he wanted Navy bad and and we have been working to lose weight and BMI like crazy now.. but although Im not very religious, I do believe this happened for a reason.. Ill update everyone on Wed when we know more.. I know this doesnt have much to do with FS but every one has been so nice about it and rooting for him... its only fair i share the great news.and reserves are still a great option for him...

I believe we are here on FS to share the things that are important in our lives (and most things impact our moods and attidues, which influences our eating)...and obviously all of your Buddies are interested...and even non-buddies (like me) really like to hear and share the good news OR the struggles...so thanks for sharing....AND I got another song for your "list" you asked for a couple of weeks ago....JUMP (Van Halen).....Keep on Keeping on!!!!!!!!!

Oh that IS great news - getting some sort of education and job skills are necessary now and reserves can fulfill his dream, too.

Good for him, take the scholarship and apply for a Navy ROTC scholarship knock school and go into the NAVY as a officer :)

Yay, Michael.....Rockiesfan has a point. Our daughter has a scholarship to Notre Dame and because she wanted to join the Navy, she also applied for Navy ROTC . It drastically cut down our expenses for ND. ROTC pays for most of her expenses and gives her a monthly stipend. She attends some military classes and trains with her Navy and Marine peers weekly. She goes to the Navy each summer and has a 6 year commitment at the end of college. She will be commissioned as an officer upon graduation. She loves it! Might be something for Michael to look into....
