Ginsin's Journal, 20 February 2023

Not like I don't know what I need to do. Not like I don't know HOW to do it.
Like the old Nike slogan, JUST DO IT....ok, ok, I will. Never get to Hungy, Angry, Lonely or Tired. So tired yesterday, I messed up. There's always the bs we tell ourselves, it's Thanksgiving, it's Christmas, then Mardi Gras (thank goodness I have only had 6 bites of King Cake), always some excuse to eat. Truth be told these cloudy days for so long really do take effect on mood.

Don’t celebrate, not a fan of crowds, but do love working and having everyone else party. Quiet and busy for me .

Not a fan of crowds either.

Went to Mardi Gras just once and had a great time but after growing up with the Rose parade I was soooooo disappointed. But, the overall experience was a blast. A few of the docs and nurses from the hospital all went. No one even got arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

Kenna, Mardi Gras is a whole different creature from the Rose Bowl Parade. Very difficult to compare the two. It's sort of like comparing the Queen and the Jester.

Ladysmith13– as you say, the events in our lives generally involve food, whether it is a wedding or a funeral. But that just means that YOU have to to learn to take control of that situation for yourself. Pick a couple of things to try, enjoy them and step away. Many here assure me that is not possible for many of the people — maybe, maybe not but you should consider testing those waters yourself. Deprivation, guilt does not work portion control and moderation does. I have mentored many, people over the course of the last 40 years or so and I know it works. I didn’t say easy, I just said successful.

I get it completely, I just had no other big, famous parade to compare it to. But we had a blast. 10 days of complete debauchery. We met and hung out everyday with a few of the Crews. What a trip.
