I find it helpful to “trick myself”: I tell myself I’ll go there and if I still don’t feel like a workout when I get there I can always go home. When I get there I usually figure I may as well do a workout now I’m there! If I still don’t want to work out when I get there, I tell myself I can just do 10 mins then stop and go home if I’m not feeling it - once I’ve started I always finish my one-hour workout 😆

Yes getting there is harder than the workout sometimes. I went to the basement last night to do 30mins incline walk on the treadmill. I ended up watching 2 episodes of Blacklist and got in 75mins cardio. Hopefully I can get at least half that again tonight and get energy for some weight training in the morning.

I didn't make it, Supergainz. It was 25 degrees in the morning and I never made it. #fail

Well I actually made it down there today and got a pretty good workout in I can't use the 25 degrees excuse when I don't even need to leave the house 🤦‍♂️

Otb, I wish I could workout in my basement. I'm just not that dedicated yet with the weights. Honestly, I think I still have some PTSD from snapping my bicep tendon. I don't want to push too hard too fast like last time and get an injury. I'm in my 40s with over a 5 year gap since any real weight training. It will take some time.

I do that with walking. We’ll just go to the end of the street. Most nights it ends up being much further.

I’m going to split the difference tonight by mixing weights and Netflix.

I would be the same too! You only have a unicep now. I’d start with 12-16 rep ranges with less intensity but more frequent kind of training. Where you’re stimulating frequently enough to cause growth but not breaking down the muscle too much.

yikes that fear must be very difficult to overcome. I was having issues with my elbow tendons few months ago my muscles were getting stronger than the tendons and I had to back off significantly and switch over to all dumbell work for awhile but a tear like that has got to be horrible

otb, it is pretty traumatic. My physical pain wasn't the worst that I have experienced but it wasn't enjoyable. The psychological pain of the event and then having a deformed arm was much worse. I know I didn't lose a limb and I'm not comparing to that but I still feel like I lost a part of my body.

@Supergainz Yep, I'm Mr. Unicep now. And it is too late to fix it. It was more deformed when I was bigger. So, I guess I'll focus on triceps to avoid that look.
