Love your comment on Planning. Weight loss does not happen without planning. If it did we would all be skinny already.

Ain't that the truth. I will actually be working on some meal plans today. Until now I have been experimenting with what I can eat and trying new things, now its time to get serious.

I want to get a fitbit...but my sister said they are not very accurate. What do y'all think?

There is no device that is perfectly accurate. I did a lot of research on all the activity watches out there so far the Fitbit is the best overall. Even the heart rate monitor is accurate but can be slightly delayed which is understood due to the fact you do not have to wear a chest band. As for steps. It is pretty accurate. I usually say give yourself 200 step cushion due to hand movements that you might make throughout the day. If you are still curious, there are many reviews on youtube you can look up for the different fitbit items

I personally think the accuracy depends on where you wear it. The wrist ones see lots of movements that may not be steps. But really its a motivator not a true measure of activity so whats the harm even if its not 100% accurate. I wear a fitbit on my waistband or run belt.

My fitbit Flex matches up my distance with GPS tracker. I wear on non-dom hand without sensitive mode turned on. It definitely doesn't pick up many of my "non-step" movements (to a degree that I feel like I'm way overestimating my activity). But really, my run data on Fitbit vs GPS tracker was less than 0.1 km off. So, I consider it pretty good for my needs/movement patterns.

Thanks everyone. I guess I will keep on researching and maybe I'll get one for Mother's Day.
