my husband made me a dressing outta olive olive, lemon juice and spices. I logged the olive oil only.. it this fair and being truthful? I don't even log my dressing most of the time or my beverages but I feel like I need to truthfully represent my fats (the dressing not the drinks lol) so when i ask for help and some looks at my log they can see I had a fat in the form of olive oil.. i never use dressing that has more than 2 carbs any way or i make my own. One last question, is cheese a fat? example blue cheese or feta on my salad or is a protein??

cheese is both fat and protein. Dressings can be very high calorie and drinks like pop are calorie monsters. Always read the label!

prepared dressings are a must. They are a surprising source of fat, calories and carbs. The oliveoil, lemon juice and spices... I still log lemon juice because I do carbs. But a squeeze is super minimal and won't make a big difference. Blue cheese/ feta ARE low carb, but every carb adds up. It's an ugly truth when you see it. You don't have to make it public, but do it for yourself. I don't do coffee, (I use truvia) but depending on the beverage you need to log. Any non diet soda, any fruit juice. Another thing... if you are doing low carb, you are not quite as worried about the fat.

Cheese: Fat, Protein. DEFINITELY want to log cheeses (all milk-based products for that matter) Yes. Logging your Olive Oil was truthful. No. NOT logging your lemon juice and Spices is okay, as they provide very little to your Fat/Protein/Carb count.

And yes, unless you're drinking WATER, you need to log your beverages. Depending on what you're drinking (ie. anything sweet..whether it is naturally sweet like real Orange Juice, or added sugar like Kool-Aid or Coke), you could be consuming LOTS of carbs/sugars and not logging it in.
