Daddy Manatee's Journal, 11 May 2022

Played capture the flag with a bunch of teenagers this evening. I have t sprinted like that in a long while. Currently lying in bed with ice packs on my legs, definitely going to feel this in the morning.

The number one cause of injury in old men is thinking they are young men.

Doing well. My motivation is slowly returning. It has been an uphill battle to get up, go to gym and eat well. I am taking it piece by piece now. Getting up, check. Go to gym- working on it. Eat well, I’ll get to that after I am motivated for the gym again.

I have so many ice packs and heating pads! Maybe the ice helped you and you won't feel so bad today. The pain is always worse at night for me.

Asarver I did have a great time. It was a ton of fun. I think the last time I sprinted that much was when I was playing rugby. I’d come home with severe shin splint pain. None of that this time, just really sore legs. And back. And shoulders. And feet. And…..

Fritzy the ice did help. So did a light workout at the gym and then sitting in the hot tub the next morning. I was able to function during a busy day at work. The true irony (if that word can be used here) is it has been very slow at work, and the day I am super sore is the day we are super busy.
