adamevegod1's Journal, 18 April 2022

I beg your pardon for being AWOL. This is my first return since before 4/6. I saw that there were 297 journal entries. I'm not going to try and tackle that. Here is an update. My prostatectomy was on 4/6. Post surgery I experienced subcutaneous emphysema. This is generally a non-issue. After 4 doses of morphine I was finally given something to "temporarily" relieve the pain. I had 48 hours of He_ _ , followed by many painful days. I'm not even sure if I felt the pain of the surgery. Nevertheless, today was my first post op checkup. The biopsies of the lymph nodes indicate no cancer, and they removed a catheter that I've been sporting for 13 days. The real test comes in 3 months. Thanks for all the prayers. No----not been near a scale. The surgeon said nothing over 10 lbs for six weeks, beginning with the date of the surgery. The doc wrecked my abs, but if he got the cancer then that's a good exchange. Keep swinging for the fences guys and gals.

It sounds like you have been through a lot. I had never heard of subcutaneous emphysema and had to google it. Still don't understand it, but it doesn't sound good. Glad that the lmph nodes don't show cancer. I hope you are not having pain now and that you rest and get strong. I couldn't lift anything over 10 pounds after I had surgery. It wasn't hard, but sometimes I'd forget and pick up a 19 pound cat.

Wow, sorry you had to go through that. So glad it seems the cancer is out. It's wonderful they didn't find any in your lymph. The scale isn't important, you can deal with that later. Just rest and recoup for now.

I wish to thank all of you for such encouraging comments. It really means a lot coming from some I somewhat know, and some of you interacting with me on the first time. Yes, things got complicated, but I'm on the other end of that now. Currently in conjuntion with healing from surgery my lower abdomen is experiencing a lot of intense pain. I've been subcribed some high quality probiotics. I'm hoping that clears this mess up. I'm wore out from pain. If all had been "routine" I think this wouldn't have been much of an issue, but now I will never know. I can't even advise or comment to another having the same surgery because mine was heavily clouded by other circumstances that I don't even know what the surgery/recovery should look like. Thanks again guys and gals.
