Relatively good on food today but dinner not as planned. Bad headache edging on migraine, no exercise. May be the cold front that is supposed to roll in over night. Strong fronts are a trigger for me. Haven't used my feverfew in months so no preventative on board. Aspirin and ibuprofen not touching, don't want to take the strong stuff. Going to bed early, should be gone in the am. So glad these are now rare instead of several times a week like they used to be.

Sorry to read you've had a migraine. It's amazing how you can tell what will set off your migraine, and have an idea how to relieve it. I hope it passes as quickly as possible. I glad to hear they aren't as often as they used to be. You take care and try to get through the week end as best as possible. K.

Kathy, I spent two years working with a really good neurologist to get rid of chronic migraines. First time I saw him I had had a migraine in varying degrees that never stopped for over 6 months, I was a mess. He put me on meds, had me track everything food, weather, activities, stress, vitamins, meds, every physical symptom. I had notebooks full and we'd go over them every few weeks. It really helped me pinpoint both migraine and asthma triggers. I avoid them whenever possible. He weaned me off the beta blockers I was on as a preventative. Since I've been exercising the incidence of migraines has decreased even more. Since this week slammed me with one I need to go back to taking magnesium as I haven't been taking it lately. If my magnesium levels are low I'm more susceptible. Then if I get another it's time to add a couple feverfew leaves in my morning smoothies for awhile.

Wholefoodnut, I'm glad you've found what triggers the migraines and can tell what you need to add to help. For most of my life I haven't gone to the doctor. About 15 yrs ago I started having panic attacks, and the doc. put me on three anti-depressants. It was suppose to be a temporary fix. Off and on, I've asked doctors to ween me off of them, and none of them wanted to, finally I found one that was happy to! Just that in itself has given me so much more energy, and no longer feel sedated or lethargic! I feel this has been such a help with loosing weight. I guess what I'm getting to, is it's wonderful when you find a doctor that will work with you. I hope you are feeling better, and back on your feet soon. K.

Finding a good doc is a challenge!!! Especially if you don't want to live on drugs... glad that you found one.. I found my current gp through an urgent care I went to for pneumonia and poison ivy. I would call my regular doc and it would be a week or two before they would see me!!! Not acceptable, I would have been in the hospital!! I love my doc, she, her partner, and staff understand. The front desk has orders to get me in the same day with lung or poison ivy issues. They know I'll be in trouble very quickly. I do live on drugs to keep me breathing but we've worked together to get me so I have few side affects and I can adjust them to lower doses if I can. She is more into keeping her patients healthy rather than treating them only when they are sick.
