This insulin thing is a pain in the butt. I did 50 this morning and at 12:30 I started getting shaky. I checked bs and it was 82. So I ate mac nuts and drank a diet cranberry juice. That was 7 grams of carbs so I feel a little better.

I wasn't hungry for lunch yet b/c I didn't eat until about 8:30.

I can't tell how much insulin for the amount of carbs I'm eating. Also, my body is changing as I eat better and my insulin sensitivity is being restored so I don't need as much insulin from the shot.

No, I don't think it would help going to the DR. They just say reduce it x amount and see how you feel. Not worth 85 bucks. I can adjust it better myself b/c I know what I'm eating day to day.

I will stick with 50/25 for the rest of the week and just keep monitoring my bs. The only value I am worried about is the nighttime value b/c it can be dangerous to drop below 70 while you are sleeping.

Most of the time if I get that low I wake up. Some people have a problem where they don't wake up. I don't want to test those waters.

Is the diet Primal Blueprint in compliance with Diabetes recommendations? Does you doctor agree with the diet? I think your approach is good. Your testing what works and what doesn't. One thing for sure, eating well will establish a path to better health.

I have the same issue and it is very frustrating but carb counting and eating similar foods everyday help me. so now I know how much I need to cover certain meals and as I lose weight I can reduce it a little at a time. I also have had many night time lows but getting better now. scary even thou I always wake up.
