Feeling HORRIBLE today!! Someone broke my windshield on my new car!! I saved for 2 years to get the car of my dreams (mustang) and I am still making payments, I really cant afford this extra expense right now. Its less than my deductable so I have to pay all of it, a week before my house payment is due! WTF! Its so unfair. This couldn't happen at a worse time. We are barely getting back on track after my husbands emergency trip oversees last month because his father is dying. That totally ate up most of our savings since we had to replace our ac unit this summer and a tree fell on the roof of my house and we had to repair that. My door was hit the first day I bought the car by a girl with no insurance, then xmas, my dad is sick and now this. I really feel sooooooo stressed out today. We have worked for 5 years to save for our retirement and we have eaten thru almost all of that money just this past year. We got my cc's paid off and now I feel like I am being dragged back into that hole. I really want to be back on track. It fells bad because we don't overspend on things we don't need, never go out, because we want to save and retire at 55. At this rate, we have to start all over. UGH!!
I know money has nothing to do with diet but when I got here to work someone had brought two boxes of donuts and my first thought was " hey, a donut would make me feel really good after such a sh!tty morning!" I didn't eat it, but it's sad that I still feel like food will make me feel better when I feel bad.I still have bad relationship with food. I am hanging in there and staying away from the donuts, but just want to get thru the day and go home and crawl into bed!! boohoo.

Aww. I'm so sorry for your troubles. But good for you for staying away from those tempting donuts. As a sister Mustang driver I don't know if I would have had the will power.

Where do you live? I am in Florida and if you have full coverage insurance the insurance company HAS to replace the windshield. If that's not the case in your state, was it from road debris or did someone actually smash it?

PS, no, the donut will not help you feel better.

I am in Texas. Husband called insurance this morning and they said to call and find out how much it is b/c is it is less than my deductable, we have to pay for it. It really looks like some one just got a rock or a brick and smashed it in. I mean who the heck does stuff like that. I called my HOA and let them have it because we are supposed to have security and we live in a gated community. I have had my gas sucked out three times, air let out of my tires twice , now this all in 4 months that I have had the car. I love my car. I even named it! I just feel so violated and unsafe now not to mentioned the financial stress of all this bs. Donuts are evil doers of fat!! I keep telling myself this over and over, " no donut will help!"

check with your insurance company - i didn't even know we had windshield replacement coverage and we paid for 2 of them out of pocket. it's worth a call...

ok - scratch my earlier message... sorry :(

Wow, that is terrible, especially since you have a gated community. They are lucky its not me because I would start sleeping in my car with a shotgun just waiting for them to come once more. I know how you feel about your car though. Hubby just bought his all time dream car - a Mustang GT and I swear if 1 scratch is found he'll come unglued.

I am going to talk to my husband about investing in cameras to point right at my car. I am coming unglued. Mustang is my dream car. I think its some kids in the neighborhood. I hope I don't find out who they are or if I know them because I will take it up with their parents. This is supposed to be a good place to live, that's why we chose to live here, but at this point, I am so hot I want to tell me husband to let me sell my place and move somewhere else where I know this wont happen. Having a bad day! :(

Dang girl, thats some pretty bad luck! Here in Houston there are "mobile" windshield repair companies that are fairly cheap. I think it will be MUCH less than your insurance deductable. I'm with you guys on the Mustang. I have a convertable and LOVE it!

Yeah, it looks like someone has it after you. Have you made anyone mad?

I have no idea who could have done this, kmartin. I almost believe it was just random.Boots, I checked into the mobiles and it will be $25.00 cheaper if I take it to them, so gonna take it in the morning. Its gonna set me back around $200. Really wasn't planning on that with my car and house payment this week. BLAHH !

(depending on your family's comfortable level) They sound like they are very hard to do yourself, but they are not all that bad to replace. If you have a 'You-Pull-It', or even a junk yard where they remove it from a junked car, you can put it in. Take a look online and see what the forums say on how hard your exact year is. I have done two, the back window in my '70 Mach 1 and the front windshield on my '83 BMW. It took me about 3 hours each, learning as I went. ~tig

Secondly. If you have a window near your parking place, you can purchase a camera that has RCA cables that connect directly to a VCR or s-video that connect to your computer. You do not need to pay for an entire home video security system with the cameras and monitors. I got one with a 100 foot cord (mount it just about anywhere) with night vision for $40. ~tig
